With the foundation for the original design of this head office building already constructed on a site along Spintex Road, Accra, Project Logic was commissioned by Azar Chemicals Industries Ltd. to redesign the building, modernising both its architectural appearance and functionality while working within the constraints of the existing foundation.

The client’s brief required the ground floor to serve as the company’s main showroom, with managerial offices occupying the second floor. The two upper floors were designed as two- and three-bedroom apartments to accommodate the company’s expatriate staff.

One of the principal architectural objectives was to create a building with the clear identity and presence of a contemporary office block, despite incorporating residential accommodation within the upper floors. Project Logic therefore developed an architectural expression that unified the different functions within a coherent and distinctly corporate building.
